About Dr. Harris

Dr. Charles R. Harris, Jr. earned his BS degree in biology from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and his DDS from Medical College of Virginia.  He has served as an adjunct professor with VCU’s School of Dentistry as an instructor at Northern Neck Free Health Clinic.

Dr. Harris is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Peninsula Dental Association. He is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry as well as the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry. He was inducted into the International College of Dentists in 2013.

Dr. Harris is director of the Middle Peninsula MOM (Mission of Mercy) Project that has rendered free dental services to over 1200 patients in need over the last three years. He is also part of the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic’s Dental Clinic Without Walls. He has served as president of Gloucester/Mathews Habitat for Humanity and continues to serve on their board. He is an active member of the Abingdon Ruritan Club and served as president in 2006.

Dr. Harris has been involved with youth activities such as coaching basketball, T-ball, football, and baseball. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester.

Dr. Harris has lived in Bena, Virginia for over 40 years.
